NYPD: Woman saved by purse when shot at point-blank range during carjacking


On Media Outlook News: A woman's purse became her unlikely hero recently, when it stopped a bullet from wounding her during a violent carjacking.

The New York Police Department says a 39-year-old victim was loading luggage into her vehicle at 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning in Brooklyn when a 52-year-old man held her at gunpoint and demanded her car keys.
The woman fought back, at which point the man fired a round at her at point-blank range. The woman was saved from the gun shot, though, when the bullet was stopped by her purse and wallet.

Billboard reports that the “No Problems” musician and activist strongly opposed the plan, and questioned how his behavior may have led to Mayor Rahm Emanuel leaving the chambers. “I guess the mayor had to step out when I came up.
