Video: Man charged after body found in burned vehicle on Christmas Day; but NOT for the victim’s death

Image
MILWAUKEE -- An arrest has been made after a body was found in a burned car on Christmas morning -- but the charge the suspect is facing isn't for the victim's death. It happened near 54th and Capitol Drive. Police said the victim is Brandon Blunt. On January 11th, charges were filed against 41-year-old Mister Bratchett. But court documents show Bratchett isn't charged with Blunt's death. He faces one count of arson. The black, four-door Honda Civic found burned in this case is allegedly owned by the grandfather of the woman Blunt has children with. It's unclear how Blunt and Bratchett were connected, but police said surveillance video shows Bratchett pumping gasoline into a gas can. Police said there is also video of Bratchett in an alley on Christmas morning -- getting out of the Honda Civic and walking around to the back of the vehicle. A flash and flames are then allegedly seen in the video -- followed by a lone figure walking away from t

Secret Service vets shocked at agent's claim she won't take a bullet for Trump

Image
A Denver-based Secret Service agent’s assertion that she would rather go to jail than take a bullet for President Trump left veterans of the commander-in-chief’s vaunted security detail stunned. Gary Byrne, who guarded President Clinton and the Oval Office during a 12-year stint with the Secret Service, told Fox News Special Agent Kerry O’Grady’s revelation on Facebook was astonishing. Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com “It is unheard of and unbelievable that someone at her level would comment publicly on being unwilling to protect the president,” said Byrne, author of “Crisis of Character,” a book that came out during the presidential campaign that was highly critical of Hillary Clinton. “Everyone has their own personal political opinions, but this job is not personal. You take an oath to the country, not the person. You are protecting the office, and what makes the country great.” Dan Emmett, a retired Secret Service agent and author of “Within Arms Length” and “

How the Racial Differences in Prison Deaths Illustrate Inmate Afflictions

Image
New data released last month from the Bureau of Justice Statistics shows a stark difference in how White and Black inmates are dying in the nation’s prisons and jails. Deaths of all prisoners rose slightly from 2013 to 2014, the latest year for which the bureau has compiled data. Of the 4,980 people who died in custody of federal and state prison  systems and about 2,900 local jails nationwide, most were non-Hispanic Whites. Illness accounted for a vast majority of the deaths — heart disease and cancer were among the most common causes — but a closer examination shows significant racial differences in two causes of death. Between 2001 and 2014, the percentage of state and federal prisoners who died from AIDS-related illnesses decreased dramatically, from a high of 9.6 percent down to 1.8 percent. Local jails saw a similar drop. At the same time, the number of prisoners living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, also decreased. Despite the decrease, the rate

3 SIGNS YOU’RE OVER YOUR LONG-DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP

Image
According to my unofficial relationship poll, 92.67% of long distance relationships are entered into without a definitive end date, meaning folks are actively committing to someone despite the massive geographical distances that separate them, without ever clarifying when that distance will eventually come to an end. When you’re young and still in the process of figuring life out, this isn’t that problematic because your schedule still has a certain amount of fluidity that allows you to entertain situations—personally and professionally—that aren’t clearly defined. But as we all grow older, getting into and remaining in long distance relationships can start to become more challenging as you approach the “aged-out” point. This is the point when your short and long-term personal goals cannot support an extended bout of long distance loving because to be blunt, your ass ain’t getting no younger. As we all collectively mature and begin to embark on measures of “adulting,” chasin

Common Brushes Off Donald Trump's Threats To “Send In The Feds” To Chicago

Image
LOS ANGELES, CA –  President Donald Trump took to Twitter yesterday (January 24) to comment on the ongoing violence in Chicago. “If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible ‘carnage’ going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!” Trump tweeted. If Chicago doesn't fix the horrible "carnage" going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 25, 2017 Earlier today,   TMZ   briefly caught up with   Common   at LAX to get his response to the President’s proposed plans. “I feel to help Chicago, we gotta take care of our own,” Common said. “Within the community, we gotta do things. There’s a lot of people out there already organizing and doing things. We need our state local people to do things. We don’t need that mentality so I’m not focused on the President right now. I’m focused on helping the people in the city and how we

'Upset' About Chicago Violence, Trump Wants To Meet With Rahm: Spicer

Image
CHICAGO — The day after President Donald Trump caused a stir in Chicago by decrying the city's violence on Twitter and vowing to send in "the Feds," his administration struck a more conciliatory tone. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said there is no concrete plan at the moment on how the federal government would curb Chicago's violence, but Trump is tired of seeing people "shot down" on the street. "What the president is upset about is turning on the television and seeing Americans get killed by shootings... seeing people walking down the street and being shot down," Spicer said. "What he wants to do is provide the resources of the federal government. It can span a bunch of things, it can be aid, if it's requested through the governor, through the proper channels.  ... that will ensure people of Chicago have the resources to feel safe."  At the same news conference, however, Spicer said Trump will take federal grant

Video - WorldStarHipHop Founder Lee "Q" O'Denat Dead At 43

Hip Hop lost a pioneer today (January 24) with the news that WorldStarHipHop founder Lee “Q” O’Denat has died. Details are scant at this point, but TMZ reports that Q passed away in his sleep at the age of 43. Their source says he died of a heart attack, although an autopsy will happen later today. Q, who grew up in Queens, New York, started WorldStarHipHop in 2005 as a platform for mixtapes. The site evolved to become a hub for music videos and outrageous clips.  WorldStar has been criticized for the graphic nature of its content, but Q explained his vision for the company in a 2015 interview with the New York Times. “Hip-hop is for the sex, the drugs, the violence, the beefs, the culture,” he said. “That’s the competitiveness of Hip Hop, so I felt like the site needed to be R-rated.” Reports of Q’s death come just ahead of the February 3 premiere of  Worldstar TV  on MTV2. The weekly show will feature comedians and Hip Hop personalities reacting to clips

The Soulja Boy vs. Chris Brown boxing match is inspiring many rappers to challenge their rivals to fisticuffs. Meek Mill is the latest MC to jump in on the trend, claiming that he would fight Drake for $5 million. “I’d beat Drizzy the fuck up for $5 mil,” Meek said during a live stream. “Of course I would. We gonna let Nicki [Minaj] be the ring girl. Y’all would come to see that fight, wouldn’t y’all? Y’all’d spend $100 a ticket for that.” Meek Mill referencing his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj continues his lighthearted attitude, at least in public, towards their breakup. Man Who Sold Handguns Stolen From Train Gets 5 Years In Federal Prison

Image
CHICAGO — A Chicago man has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for trafficking a shipment of dozens of handguns stolen from a South Side railyard, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Warren Gates, 49, was in possession of 24 stolen firearms, 17 of which he bought illegally from men who had stolen 111 guns from a Chicago railroad car in the early morning hours of April 12, 2015, according to authorities. The guns were aboard a cargo train on its way from a Ruger factory in New Hampshire to Spokane, Wash. The train was parked overnight on the South Side of Chicago when the co-defendants broke locks on a train car and stole the guns. Gates admitted purchasing the 17 stolen firearms so he could sell them. Before his arrest, he sold 11 of them. “The defendant purchased these stolen firearms for the purpose of reselling them to those in our community who would be most interested in purchasing stolen, unregistered and untraceable firearms from an un

Video: Kim Kardashian West's Paris driver released with two others

Paris - Three suspects in the Kim Kardashian West heist have been released, the Paris prosecutor's office confirmed on Wednesday. Kardashian West's chauffeur and 16 others were detained Monday during raids across France. The driver has been released along with two others as the investigation continues into the armed robbery of the reality star in October. According to the prosecutor, those held are between the ages of 23 and 73 and can be held for up to 96 hours for questioning. The suspects were picked up by French police on Monday for questioning over the theft at gunpoint of jewels and cash worth $10 million from Kardashian West in her Paris hotel room last year, a spokesman for the Paris prosecutor told CNN. Jean Veil, Kardashian West's French lawyer, had described the detentions as "a nice surprise," according to France's L'Express magazine. "On the one hand, it will perhaps mean the jewels will be recovered and on the ot

Video: Man accused of pulling gun on woman, attempting to sexually assault her after she turned down grilled cheese

Court documents show the incident happened Monday afternoon, January 9th at Hastings' Brookfield home near Hampton and West Lisbon. Investigators said the female victim responded to a Snapchat message from Hastings inviting her to his home. She asked him for a grilled cheese sandwich, and told police when she arrived, he was making food in the kitchen. She said he then "pulled a small black pistol from his jeans pocket" and "pressed the barrel against her forehead." The victim said Hastings threatened her, and attempted to sexually assault her. The court documents say Hastings "kept putting his arm up to block her from leaving." She eventually got away, and called police. Officials later interviewed Hastings at his home. A criminal complaint says he told them he "became very angry" when the woman refused to eat the sandwich he made her. He admitted to picking up the gun and "pointing it directly at the victim's head.
