Mel B walks off 'America's Got Talent'

Image
On Media Outlook News:  When it comes to being a comedian, Melanie "Mel B" Brown thinks Simon Cowell is all wet. The former Spice Girl threw her drink at her fellow "America's Got Talent" judge Tuesday after he made a joke about her wedding night. The incident occurred during the live show Tuesday night as magician Demian Aditya attempted an escape trick involving a wooden box, fire and steel stakes. The trick didn't come off, leaving host Tyra Banks to explain that there had been a technical issue that was not Aditya's fault. "I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B's wedding night," Cowell joked. "A lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery." Brown didn't take kindly to the crack and tossed the contents of her cup at Cowell even before he got the punchline out. On any other night, this would be the craziest thing to happen on  #AGT .  pic.twitter.com/toWPVW65Sx — America's Got

Don't count on 'Trump's generals' to save us

Image
On Media Outlook News:  Well, that’s a relief. For a while there, it seemed as if our democracy was starting to look like some backward former colony in Africa or Latin America, where everything is controlled by the ruling family whose demagogue patriarch doles out fiefdoms to a tight circle of privileged heirs. But ever since Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr. got pulled into this whole mess with Russia and the campaign, you don’t hear as much from the Trump Bunch. (Also, Jared is busy negotiating peace in the Middle East, which is, like, really time-consuming.) Even when the president seemed to sympathize with neo-Nazis, his Jewish son-in-law and daughter were oddly absent. No, apparently, we’ve now moved on to a government administered by military council — a powerful trio with oversight of all Cabinet agencies and armed forces that the civilian president refers to as “my generals.” So you see, we’re on our way from being Zimbabwe or Saudi Arabia to, say, Myanmar. How

Whoever it is won’t get their hands on the full jackpot — lottery winnings are taxed like income. The IRS taxes the top income bracket 39.6%. And the government will withhold 25% of that before the money ever gets to the winner. The rest has to be paid at tax time. The top prize of $758.7 million is available only if the winner chooses

PayPal’s Franz Paasche announced the news in a post published to the company’s website Monday. “The events in Charlottesville are yet another disturbing example of the many forms that racism and hatred manifest. Prejudice, however, does not always march in the street,” Paasche wrote in the statement. “Intolerance can take on a range of on-line and off-line forms, across a wide array of content and language. It is with this backdrop that PayPal strives to navigate the balance between freedom of expression and open dialogue — and the limiting and closing of sites that accept payments or raise funds to promote hate, violence and intolerance.” The Unite the Right march
