Terrence Crutcher’s Lawyer Says He Couldn’t Have Reached Into Car Because Window Was Up
Terrence Crutcher’s Lawyer Says He Couldn’t Have Reached Into Car Because Window Was Up - According to video footage, #Tulsa police has been caught in a really bad lie. #TerrenceCrutcher was unarmed when he was shot and killed in #Oklahoma last week. A weapon was not found in his SUV either. You may recall Tulsa police were responding to reports of a stalled vehicle on Friday when two officers found Crutcher nearby. At a press conference, police
spokeswoman #JeanneMacKenzie told members of the media that Crutcher, who was seen on multiple cameras with his hands in the air, refused to obey officers’ commands by putting his hands up. She then said Crutcher was shot when he reached into his vehicle.
However, there’s a major problem in the police department’s story. The video footage obtained from the helicopter overhead shows clearly that Crutcher’s window was rolled up. So how did he reach inside his car for a mystery weapon?
Benjamin Crump, who represents Crutcher’s family, provided evidence that Crutcher’s windows were up. A streak of Crutcher’s blood on the glass, visible in a still image taken from the helicopter video, proved that the car window was closed when he was shot. Crump accuses Jeanne MacKenzie of spreading “misinformation that he caused his own death.” Crutcher’s family demanded the release of unedited police footage of the incident. The department complied with that request on Monday.

If you watch the helicopter video from the beginning, you can see the windows and sunroof are all open. The alleged blood streak on is the seat belt visible through the open window. As the helicopter moves around it briefly lines up with dark smear on the door.
ReplyDeleteCrime scene photos also show blood splatter on the car seat. The window was definitely down.
