Uptown Murder Victim's Ex Needs Help Giving Him Proper Burial

UPTOWN  — A 55-year-old man fatally shot in Uptown Friday night has been identified as Bobby Kraft, according to his ex-wife.
Annie Kraft, of Florida, started a GoFundMe page for the slain man asking for donations to give her ex-husband a proper burial, according to the website.
"He does not have any relatives to speak of, and I feel that I owe this to him, and out of respect, as a person who genuinely cared about him," the GoFundMe said.
Around 6:15 p.m. Friday, Kraft was shot in his right arm while walking in the 900 block of West Wilson Avenue, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead, she said.
Photos of the aftermath posted to social media show the shooting occurred outside the Ezra Multi-Service Center, located at 909 W. Wilson Ave. The center strives to prevent homelessness, alleviate hunger and help struggling Chicagoans get back on their feet.
"To think that he would become a statistic of Chicago's murder rate, is truly unthinkable and heart wrenching! So, if you can find it in your heart, please give, and we are humbled that you would do so," the GoFundMe page said.
The page has raised more than $4,000 since it was started over the weekend.
