Image
On Media Outlook News:  INGLEWOOD, CA –  After years of delays, director changes and much controversy, Tupac biopic  All Eyez On Me  is heading to theaters June 16. The Benny Boom-directed film stars Demetrius Shipp, Jr. as one of Hip Hop’s most celebrated and controversial figures, who recently just got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. One thing that hadn’t seen much discussion were the details around the official soundtrack for the film, set to be distributed by Summit Entertainment. Over the weekend, however, DX Live’s Jake Rohn got a chance to speak with several West Coast legends during this year’s Krush Groove event at The Forum in Inglewood about just that. It all kicked off when Luniz member  Numskull had this to say about his possible contribution to the soundtrack. “About the  All Eyez On Me  soundtrack, we got a Tupac song that I did with me, Shock G and Treach of Naughty By Nature,”...

Federal Judge Blocks Trump’s Sanctuary Cities Order

Image
On Media Outlook News: O n Tuesday, San Francisco and its Silicon Valley neighbor, Santa Clara County, both won preliminary injunctions blocking the Jan. 25 “sanctuary cities” executive order handed down by Donald Trump. A San Francisco judge barred enforcement of Trump’s executive order withholding funds from so-called sanctuary cities that fail to comply with federal immigration demands by shielding undocumented immigrants. Trump had declared that sanctuary jurisdictions cause “immeasurable harm to the American people and to the very fabric of our republic.” The city and county argued the president’s order violated the Constitution and threatened to deprive them of funding for local programs. With this new judgment, the federal government may ask the U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco to overturn the original ruling. Forcing sanctuary cities to cooperate with deporting undocumented immigrants was a key component of the president’s campaign...

This time around, Rasheeda was left bearing the brunt of public humiliation not only due to Kirk Frost’s infidelity, but shame after he actually  blamed  her for his decisions to be unfaithful. Things have not been sweet between the two for awhile now and during her conversation with fellow  L&HH  cast member Scrappy, Rasheeda revealed that her and Kirk are living in separate residences. A DNA test on the baby in question—yes honey—also hasn’t been filed yet and the conversation ended with Scrappy saying he’s going to speak with Kirk Frost a...

Navy destroyer has close encounter with Iran vessel in Persian Gulf

Image
On Media Outlook News:  A U.S. Navy destroyer had another close encounter with an Iranian Revolutionary Guard "fast attack craft" in the Persian Gulf Monday. Two U.S. officials tell  Fox News  that the Iranian ship came within 1,000 yards of the guided missile destroyer USS Mahan with its weapons manned. The officials said the Mahan altered course to avoid the Iranian warship, sounded the danger signal, fired flares and manned its own weapons. The Iranian ship did not come closer than 1,000 yards and no warning shots were fired. "Coming inbound at a high rate of speed like that and manning weapons, despite clear warnings from the ship, is obviously provocative behavior," said one American official in describing the Iranian actions. In January, USS Mahan fired warning shots at four Iranian vessels near the Strait of Hormuz. In that incident, the Mahan tried to order the boats to stop via bridge-to-bridge radio communication, but the vessels didn’t respon...

Miffed over border wall talk, top Mexican official floats American entry fee

Image
On Media Outlook News:  A top Mexican official on Tuesday said that Mexico may consider charging a fee for Americans entering the country in what could be seen as a retaliation to President Trump's call for a border wall. Foreign Secretary Luis Videgaray, in a meeting with Mexico's top legislators, called Trump's plan an "unfriendly, hostile" act, and called on his colleagues to consider the entry fee. "We could explore — not necessarily a visa, that could impede a lot of people from coming to Mexico — but we could perhaps (have) a fee associated with entry,” Videgaray said. “This is something that I'm sure will be part of our discussion, and I believe we can find points of agreement." Videgaray went on to say that Mexico would not pay a cent towards the wall. He said if talks between the U.S. and Mexico fail to satisfy both countries, the Mexican government would consider reducing security cooperation.   "If the negotiation on other...

Man Killed Police Officer David Blake In Bid To Steal His Guns, Jury Finds

Image
On Media Outlook News:  COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A Cook County jury has found Bernard Williams guilty of murdering off-duty Chicago Police Officer David Blake in 2010. The jury reached its verdict about 5 p.m. Tuesday after nearly four hours of deliberation. Williams was also found guilty of armed robbery and discharging a firearm. "Dave [Blake] was a very nice guy. Very unassuming. Very quiet," said Sgt. Tim Kusinski, who coached Blake on the CPD Enforcers football team. "He didn't deserve this." According to Kusinski, Blake had very few living relatives following his mother's death in 2009. No family attended the trial, but dozens of police officers and sheriff's deputies packed the gallery Tuesday morning. At least 10 members of the city's SWAT team, Blake's unit, appeared in sage-green uniforms. "The police was his family, that's for sure," Kusinski said. Williams' relatives declined to comment Tuesda...
