Ciara's controversial marriage advice has some truth, experts say

Image
On Media Outlook News: Ciara  is almost as well known for her relationship ups and downs as she is for her music. Perhaps that’s why over the weekend she was inspired to post a controversial clip from Pastor John Gray that came from a sermon directed at single women. The idea that women should “#LevelUp” to find happiness in love caused quite a stir on social media. The message was problematic to many, but it did in fact have a grain of truth, according to relationship experts. “[A] wife is not the presence of a ring, it’s the presence of your character,” Gray said in the sermon. “Too many women want to be married, but you’re walking in the spirit of ‘girlfriend.’ When you carry yourself like a wife, a husband will find you.” #LevelUp. Don’t Settle. Kim Kardashian West and Her Entire Family Star in Calvin Klein’s New #MyCalvins Campaign

On Media Outlook News:  As Calvin Klein’s Raf Simons continues his focus on all things Americana, it’s only fitting that the label has chosen one of the country’s most discussed families for its latest campaign:   The Kardashian-Jenner sisters . “Family is everything,” says Kim Kardashian West, “so when we’re all together doing something special like this, it means so much.” The “something special” she's talking about is appearing in the global campaigns for Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear alongside her four sisters Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner. “We were all in a group text before saying how lucky we are to do this together and that it’s going to be the best day,” adds Kim. That sense of adventure and togetherness was at the crux of the campaign, shot by Willy Vanderperre, at a secret location in Los Angeles. The images portray the sisters posing together in a barn-like setting, and its focus on family unity is what drew the s

Jury: Clarke, ex-sheriff in Milwaukee, didn't violate speech

Image
On Media Outlook News:  MILWAUKEE (AP) — Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke did not violate a man's free speech with taunting Facebook posts after detaining him at an airport last year for shaking his head at Clarke while boarding a flight, a federal jury concluded Monday night. In a civil lawsuit against Clarke, Daniel Black argued he received hateful messages and was fearful after Clarke called him a "snowflake" online and said Black "wouldn't be around to whine" if the then-sheriff really wanted to harass him. Clarke made the comment after Black complained to the county that the sheriff had his deputies detain and question him for 15 minutes after he got off the plane in Milwaukee. Jurors deliberated nearly three hours before deciding Clarke's posts were not enough to chill Black's future speech. Clarke resigned on Aug. 31 to join a political action committee that supports President Donald Trump. Black said he shook his head

Alfonso Alarcon-Nunez drove women to their homes, assaulted them, and stole property including cellphones, computers and jewelry, officials said. He collected his fare payments through the smartphone app Venmo to disguise his identity and his Uber records. DNA evidence helped lead detectives to Alarcon-Nunez, who was arrested at his Santa Maria home last week, San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow said at a news conference. The alleged crimes occurred over four weeks starting in mid-December in San Luis Obispo, a city of about 45,000 that is home to California Polytechnic State University. Alarcon-Nunez's victims are between 19 and 22 and three were drunk at the time of the crimes, Dow said. Alarcon-Nunez, 3

Mom Who Makes 5-Year-Old Pay Rent Ignites Social Media Debate

Image
On Media Outlook News: A  Georgia mother’s Facebook post about making her 5-year-old pay rent has some parents on the internet singing her praises and others not so much. Last week, Essence Evans shared the innovative method she uses to teach her child financial literacy and, ultimately, give her a financial cushion when she becomes an adult. “Every week she gets $7 dollars in allowance,” Evans wrote in the Facebook post. “But I explained to her that in the real world most people spend most of their paycheck on bills with little to spend on themselves.” Who you tellin’, sis? She then broke down the mathematics behind it all: “So I make her give me $5 dollars back,” the financially savvy mother continued. “$1 for rent, $1 for water, $1 for food. The other $2 she gets to save or do what she wants with.” That all sounds rather painfully relative to the real world. This Georgia mom says she makes her 5-year-old daughter pay rent to teac

Daniel Black sued the sheriff for having deputies detain him and question him at Milwaukee’s airport, but Clarke’s taunting social media posts remain the focus of the case. Here’s a look at history of the case and the legal issues that will play out in federal court. The trial starts Monday. The plane confrontation Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Clarke and Black were boarding a flight from Dallas to Milwaukee on Jan. 15, 2017 — the day Clarke’s beloved Dallas Cowboys were facing the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs. The sheriff was clad in Dallas gear without his trademark cowboy hat and Black said he didn’t immediately recognize him because of that. He asked Clarke if he was Milwaukee’s sheriff, according to his lawsuit, and when Clarke said yes, Black shook his head d

Kevin McFie, 35, has swamped his ex-wife with letters and said he will continue to send their daughters cards until 'a court tells me otherwise', ignoring all pleas from victim Ms Knight, 26, to be left alone. Margaret Skidmore found Leroy Campbell hiding in the home of her daughter, Lisa, 37, in Bilston, West Midlands, after he had killed her, in November 2016. A convicted rapist who was on probation, Campbell attacked Mrs Skidmore, strangling her with a vacuum cleaner cord and leaving her unconscious, while her daughter’s body lay in a room upstairs. World’s Smallest Baby Who Weighed the Same as a Candy Bar Finally Gets to Go Home — See How She’s Grown! [PHOTOS]

On Media Outlook News: D o you believe in miracles? Well, if not, meet the world’s smallest,   BIGGEST   fighter. Back in June of last year, a baby girl born at just 28 weeks old, entered the world weighing only 0.88 lb — the same as a large, Cardbury chocolate egg and 0.12 oz less than one pound! Named Manushi, her foot was the size of her dad’s thumbnail, and she became one of the world’s smallest babies to ever survive such extreme premature conditions. During the time of her birth, Manushi, from Rajasthan, India, measured in at only only 8.6 inches long, not breathing, with “paper thin skin and underdeveloped organs.” Born to mother Seeta, 48, and father Giriraj, 50, Manushi was given a 0.5 percent chance of surviving without brain damage. However, doctors say she “appears intellectually normal,” thus far. According to her doctors, Manushi actually lost weight the first few days of life, since she could not be fed adequately due to the immaturity of
